oil 4 food

WRT the oil for food program by UN 4 iraq

doesn't anyone have a clue what 'money is fungible' means?

(even if it was for food, ok so now with their other money, they need to buy less food, and can use it for evil)

In all honesty, I *do* think some people just don't understand the concept "money is fungible". Witness all the people who complain that we "prop up" oil dictators. What should be do instead? "Just" buy oil from them, they say; otherwise no cultural interactions, certainly no arms to them, etc. Hey, sounds great. And of course they'll never use that money for anything bad. Like buying arms, to prop themselves up. Nope.
